Robert Pattinson has signed up for a role in Jean-Stephane Sauvaire’s new film, Mission: Blacklist, a role that couldn’t be further away from his infamous Edward Cullen character.
You have to give props where props are due and we have to say we’re pretty impressed to see how much of an effort Robert Pattinson is putting in to move away from his Twilight days.
Mission: Blacklist has been based on the book Mission Black List #1 by Eric Maddox, a man who the interrogator who was overseeing and eventually concluded the hunt for Saddam Hussein.
With Band of Brothers producer and writer Erik Jendresen already signed on for script writing duties we really think this could be an excellent, if not rather dark, military film about one of the biggest events of our generation.
Before we’d seen the trailers for Pattinson’s next film, Cosmopolis we might have been inclined to say that he was an odd choice for the role but now that we’ve seen that he can handle the more serious roles we’re actually quite looking forward to seeing how he fares in this one.
At the moment there’s no word on when filming will begin on Mission: Blacklist or indeed who else will star but as always we’ll bring you all the info when we have it.
