The fifth film in Paul W.S Anderson‘s impossibly durable zombie franchise is hitting cinemas this September, and it has just got a second trailer.

Milla Jovovich is back as ass-kicking Alice in Resident Evil: Retribution, falling further down the rabbit hole of undead intrigue and improbable corporate power as she battles to save the world and her sanity.

By the looks of things the movie will be largely similar to its predecessors, with big action set pieces and lots of shouting in place of any semblance of a plot. Also the fact that Michelle Rodriguez appears to be back in the saddle a decade after she featured in the first Resident Evil movie is thinly veiled fan service.

However, given that 2010′s Resident Evil: Afterlife was a little bit brilliant because it bothered to use 3D as the flashy, trashy gimmick that it really should be, there is some hope for its successor.
