Have you met Ray? He lives in a pub in in Holborn and wears a rather fetching neck ruffle all day every day as if he were about to perform Hamlet.
Ray is, if we hadn’t mentioned it already, a cat. And Ray the cat spends his days in the Carey Street pub being photographed and adored by tourists and punters alike.
“Sometimes he gets tired of the flashing cameras and he’ll socialise with his favourite old boys for a break,” says owner Roxy Beaujolais, who has run the pub behind the Royal Courts of Justice for 12 years.
Ray was found at Battersea cats and dogs home and lives the life of riley in his new pub home.
So if you wonder into the Carey Street pub in Holborn it’s probably safe to leave if you don’t like cats as Ray not only rules the roost but also eats at the bar with everyone else.
“This is his house and if certain customers don’t like his dinner on the bar then they can get out. He is my boy and his happiness is what matters to me,” said Ms Beaujolais.
