As anyone who’s been to a single UK festival this year will know it’s been raining a fair amount recently and it seems like the damp weather could be putting pay to any future gigs in London’s Hyde Park.
The iconic London park has been left in ruins after thousands of people descended to it last week for Wireless Festival and according to reports combination of rain and peoples feet have left the ground in ruins.
In fact the damage to the park is so bad that other gigs taking place there this summer might have to be cancelled or relocated. If these measures go ahead it’ll interrupt gigs by the likes of Blur, The National and Paul Simon.
At the moment nothing has been decided yet but the Hyde Park manager is currently assessing the damage and seeing if it can be put right in time for the next event.
Update: Since the story broke we’ve spoken to the Wireless press office who say that there’s no issue at all and all future Hyde Park gigs will go on as planned.
