Here is a second video from Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas), this time for track Dark Parts.

This is a much more toned down offering than the last introductory single and video from  the singer songwriter for the track Hood.

Dark Parts comes from the album Put Your Back N 2 It that’s available now.

The music video stars Perfume Genius’ mother Carmen Hadreas-Boggs, who the song is about and was directed by Pitchfork.tv’s Winston Case. The song was made for his mother as well as about her as something nice after always being asked by her why his music was so depressing.

Perfume Genius’ general music is basic lo-fi piano and guitar making him a similarity with the likes of Bon Iver or Elliott Smith. If you like either of them you will like his album.
