Also starring Sam Riley, Kirsten Dunst, Garrett Hedlund and Amy Adams the film is set during a time when the Beat Generation were at their height and people were more interested in booze filled fun than anything too serious.

The role is a risky one for Stewart who is dropping the virginal image that she created for herself during her Twilight days in favour of playing a wayward wife who appears in several sex scenes and is also seen drinking and taking drugs.

The film is based on the famous novel by Jack Kerouac and while this probably wont be a best selling Box Office hit it’ll definitely prove popular who like films with an indie vibe.

The film is released on 21st September.
