Ahead of her performance at the Invader Music Present night at the Sebright Arms on 3rd May was caught up with newcomer, Lulu James to find out what the top five most played songs on her iPod are…
Forgive Me? by Gang Colours: I love the space and the sparseness of this track. It’s really emotive and I love what they do with the snare rhythm plus the refrains are absolutely beautiful.
No No No by Dawn Penn: This track makes me rock out – it’s a classic – even if I hear it in the mornings it makes me go wild, which is not easy you should see me in the mornings!
Survive It by Ghostpoet: It’s my chillout anthem and it’s cool as fuck. I think Ghostpoet is an amazing lyricist and could easily have selected any track from his album as every song is a winner.
Lindisfarne by James Blake: This track put’s me in the zone – it’s one of those songs that make me want to be on my own in the dark with music up super loud.
Battle For Middle You by Julio Bashmore: The song has a load of personality and is really tight and driving, it sticks in your head and gets under your skin. I love music that does that.
Lulu James releases her debut EP on iTunes on Monday 30th April. Get your copy here.
