The internet. It’s a fairly reliable thing right? Well come the Olympic Games this Summer that could all be about to change as today comes the news that web usage could be so high during the Games that British businesses may have to have their internet access rationed.
The warning comes from the Cabinet Office as part of an official set of guidelines for British businesses and how they can prepare for the event. The concern is that there will be increased access to the internet during peak times of the day which may cause the web to crash and as such they Cabinet Office are asking offices to either ration time their employees can spend on the web or offer flexible working times in order to ease demand.
