As part of the plans to keep the Olympic Park in use after the Games have finished it’s been announced that an Olympic museum will be opened in the space.
Opening in 2014 the Olympic museum will house interactive exhibitions inspired by the London 2012 games as well as exhibits showing how the Olympic venues were built in the hope it will inspire younger generations. It is hoped that the museum will also celebrate the UK becoming the first city to host the Olympic Games three times, once in 1908, once in 1948 and of course in 2012.
Once the Olympics are over with the park will reopen under the name Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and it is currently the job of the British Olympic Association to work out what to do with the space once it’s empty.
