It’s nearly the end of the day so with that in mind here’s a new track from M.I.A to help you get through the final few hours.

Baby is the first track we’ve heard from M.I.A since her last single Bad Girls which became a hit not just hear but pretty much all over the world. If Bad Girls was hard hitting Baby is a little gentler. It still maintains the singers typical hip hop meets electronica sound but is a little more laid back than what we’ve become used to from her.

There’s a definite 80′s feel about this track which is probably a little something to do with the fact William Orbit produced it, he’s pretty well known for his use of synths in tracks and that influence definitely shines through.

At the moment it’s now known if Baby will appear on M.I.A’s next album, Maya which is being released later this year but we imagine it probably will be.
