Woolwich is to get a new piece of art delivered this weekend in the form of this new Nike statue.

Now before you do exactly what we did and assume it’s a piece by the sports brand let us enlighten you a little. Nike is also the name of the Greek goodness of Victory and a statue inspired by her is being gifted to London by the Ancient City of Olympia to say a big thanks for hosting the Olympic & Paralympic games. Now isn’t that nice of them?

From Sunday (9th September) the piece will be able to be found on the Royal Arsenal Riverside in Woolwich so if you’re passing through go and check her out.
