Rolling Stone have reported that Neil Young will be bringing out a new album with Crazy Horse.
This will be the first time Neil Young has come together with the full Crazy Horse line up since 1996 when they released Broken Arrow.
This album will be called Americana and will be out on the 5th June.
The Crazy Horse lineup includes Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, and Frank ‘Poncho’ Sampedro. The album will be full of American folk standards, including ‘Oh Susannah’ and ‘She’ll Be Comin ‘Round the Mountain’, sung with a choir of children.
According to Neil Young, the tracks o the new album have been ‘rearranged’ by Crazy Horse, he added ’they now belong to us.’
The press release says :
‘What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist, the emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what’s going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. The lyrics reflect the same concerns and are still remarkably meaningful to a society going through economic and cultural upheaval, especially during an election year. They are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written.’
