It always amazes me how artists continually get involved with new work after they die, this time it’s Amy Winehouse. As music is generally put together a long time before it gets to our little ears this is generally a common thing but always still a bit spooky I feel. This is another such occurrence.
Amy Winehouse has featured on Nas new single, Cherry Wine which was debuted on the radio 1 the day after Nas had put out the music that him and Winehouse did together as a long-form mixtape.
Cherry Wine was produced by Salaam Remi and is for his forthcoming album Life Is Good.
When talking to Tim Westwood about the track Nas said that it was a “very special song” and spoke about his ongoing disbelief that the artist was no longer with us. After working together they grew close and were even going to celebrate their shared birthdays together on 14th September.
He said, “She was so full of life, I still can’t even believe it. … She just had a big spirit.”
The single comes out on the 17th July and sounds good, what went out on the radio is below.
