Hailing from Dunfermline in Scotland Modern Faces say their music is inspired by the 60′s while their attitude & swagger is apparently derived from the 90′s. Since coming onto the music scene a few years ago they’ve played several festivals as well as London venues so we thought they’d be well equipped to tell us about their favourite places around the capital…
This Feeling Club Night, various venues: We’ve played this night a few times and it never fails to impress us. There’s a great buzz, great people and great tunes! It’s the perfect place for a top night out in London.
Carnaby Street: One of the coolest streets in the world with such a history surrounding it. Whenever we’re down in London we always like to stop in to a few of the usual shops. Pretty Green, Merc and a few belting vintage shops! You can get a top steak and pint in O’Neill’s aswell.
Camden: An obvious choice but one that can’t be overlooked! There’s great pubs and a great atmosphere in Camden, we’ve staggered back to the hotel a few times from there.
Abbey Road: We remember the first ever gig we played in London at Alan McGee`s Death Disco. There was about 25 of us that came down and we all decided to go to Abbey Road. It was an amazing place to see and was absolutely hilarious watching all the lads after a few beers walking over the famous crossing stopping the cars to get their photo’s taken, we haven’t seen so many taxi drivers going so mad since.
Denmark Street: It’s famous for all the great music shops especially the range of guitars that are on offer. We went shopping there once and in one of the shops there’s a picture of Paul Weller on the wall playing one of the guitars in the shop, each one of us were hoping he’d walk in. As soon as we’ve got a bit of dosh it’ll be Denmark Street that we head to first.
