As we told you a few months ago the organisers behind the Mercury Music Prize are planning something a bit special this year, a live show featuring some of the nominees and today we’ve got some more details for you.
The first of the live shows is set to take place next Wednesday (26th September) at the LSO St. Luke’s venue in Old Street and will include performances from 2012 nominees Jessie Ware, Field Music and Lianne La Havas.
If you want to be there you’re going to have to enter a ballot and then sit back and keep everything crossed as tickets are going to be picked at random. They’ll set you back £10 but all the proceeds are going straight to War Child so at least you’ll feel like you’re doing something good.
The 12 nominees for the Mercury Music Prize were announced last week and included the likes of Plan B, The Maccabees, Richard Hawley, Ben Howard and Django Django however it is electro indie outfit Alt-J who are currently favourites to walk away with the prize.
