Ok so this is the last Christmassy post we’ll do today but we’ve taken a look at what Matalan are offering in their Christmas 2012 collection and we have been so impressed that we feel the need to share it immediately.

We must admit that the thought of going to Matalan to pick up a Christmas party outfit never really occurred to us. Now though we think that Matalan might have taken over the place that Primark previously had in our hearts for AW 12.

With a great offering of both menswear and womens wear for the festive season we have picked out some of our favourite pieces from the collection below.

We love this studded denim shirt for  coupled with a pail and girly pastel pink sequin skirt both £22.

This sequin cami top is £12 and the skirt is £16. We are also loving the patent wedges at £20 – Matalan has a great range of shoes in this collection as well that include their own take on the wedge trainer, some maroon snow boots and a gold tipped slipper.

For the boys there are the most bargainous Chino’s we’ve seen in a while £12! These burnt orange options below go perfectly with the Fairisle jumper that is only £20.

A firm favourite of the menswear collection is this cotton jacket for £40 that encompasses the camo type feel that is going around at the moment without being over the top.
