Maison Martin Margiela’s collection for H&M was announced in June and has been highly anticipated ever since. We still have a while to wait, until the 15th November in fact, for the collection to hit the stores. In the meantime the look book has been released.
When they announced this collaboration with the Belgian Fashion House H&M stated, “We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.” The collection certainly features the Margiela’s voluminous structure and muted colour palette, throughout the menswear, womenswear, accessorises and footwear.
The most exciting part of this collaboration is that it revisits iconic pieces from over 23 years of Maison Martin Margiela’s collections. Each item will have a different tag to identify which season it was originally from, which gives the collection a special touch all of its own. H&M tried to pick the most representative pieces from the years worth of designs, which must have been a challenge with so much to choose from!
There are 104 pieces in this collection ranging from £24.99 for leggings to £199.99 for a duvet coat.
These oversized garments are perfect for those looking for an edgy and minimalist style. Although I’m sure it won’t have a problem selling out, with Margeila’s loyal fan base there is sure to be a queue out the door on the 15th November.
Let’s have a sneak peek…
