His choice to use a model so young goes against the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) guidelines which suggest that designers don’t use models any younger than 16 in order to improve models health and working standards.
When asked about his choice to use such a young model Jacobs was as outspoken as ever saying, ‘I do the show the way I think it should be, and not the way somebody tells me it should be… If their parents are willing to let them do a show, I don’t see any reason that it should be me who tells them that they can’t.’
As London Fashion Week prepares to kick off tomorrow we doubt this will be the last bit of controversy we see from the shows and their designers so keep an eye on WJ Online for all the inside gossip and news.
