London’s best restaurants have been named and as well as some of the top notch Michelin starred venues you’d expect to see on there there’s also some surprises.
Among those we didn’t expect to see is a kebab restaurant called Meze Mengal which residents of Lewisham may well be very aware of. As you can see from the image above it isn’t much to look at but according to TripAdvisor the restaurant, which is run by two brothers, is better than The Ritz and the post Apsleys restaurant based at The Lanesborough Hotel. In fact it is the 7th most highly reviewed restaurant on the website.
Serving up simple kebabs the restaurant has been open for 12 years and among its reviews are ones that dub it ‘the perfect neigbourhood restaurant’ and ‘just great’. There’s even one review from someone who claims that the food is so good that they wrote a song about it. Praise indeed.
Coming in at the number best London eatery was another Gordon Ramsay run venue Petrus which is situated in Knightsbridge which was closely followed by The Ledbury which came in at second place.
