Oh we love a bit of food in the capital don’t we and we love it even more when it’s free, just as countless burrito offers have confirmed. But happily for us there is now a very different free option on the menu to celebrate the London Restaurant Festival.
There are foodie events for the London Restaurant Festival taking place all of the capital this fortnight with the following being our favourites :
Graze
Graze is bringing some of our street food favourites to it’s tables on each night of the Restaurant Festival including Exmouth Market, Bermondsey Street, Marylebone High Street and more and if you come with your Graze keyring (you might want to pick one up) you get a free glass of wine with your meal.
Gastropub Quiz
Gastropub quizzes are held all over London during the festival at The Drapers Arms The North Pole, Islington, The Royal Oak Pub & Grill in Middlesex, The Well on John Street and The George Shillibeer on North Road. The quiz will happen at all pubs simultaneously tomorrow (2nd October) and prizes will be a LRF Hamper and inclusion in a prize draw to win the grand prize.
Street ThEATre
This is on the 13th October at the Old Vic Tunnels and is an enormous celebration of food and theatre. The list of people taking part is extensive so you will have to scout through it yourself here. But suffice to say that all of the capitals most loved streetfood will be there.
You are probably most interested in the freebies though right? Well if you want to grab a mini meal made by chefs such as John Quilter, Ben Spalding or Ollie Dabbous then look out for a yellow ambulance truck. To find it follow the London Restaurant festival Twitter and look out for the hashtag #flashHob. Expect lunch, brunch and tea depending on the time of day you find it.
It currently seems to be on its way to Seven Dials.
