Timur Kim’ s Autumn/Winter ’13 collection was super feminine. Only featuring two pairs pf trousers, Timur Kim chose to focus on dresses and skirts.
The collection, whilst colourful, was kept demure. Dresses were all in different prints, similar to prints used in the sixties and seventies, but less garish, and more modern. Some of the dresses had contrasting.sleeves with print, which were interesting and again, were reminiscent of the sixties. Timur Kim is also keeping up the trend of wearing print on print, print blazers with oversized lapels worn over print dresses. However, unlike in recent times where wearing.clashing prints has been on trend, Kim has shunned this, choosing to use matchy, matchy combinations.
Longer, flowing dresses were shown on the runway, in large block stripes of black and grey. In a twist, skirts were paired with tshirts, dressing down the skirt.
What was even more interesting wasthe choice of shoe the models wore. After seasons and seasons of killer heels, Timur Kim’s Autumn/Winter ’13 collection showed models in… men’s Brouges. In a complete contrast to the feminine silhouettes, Kim chose to use flat masculine shoes. Whether this will catch on remains to be seen, but overall this collection was very strong.
