At Sophie Hulme this morning dinosaurs stormed Somerset House for London Fashion Week, in the form of cute pendent necklaces and motifs stitched over silk shirts. Her AW 12 collection is smart and sleek, with tailored trousers cut to the ankle and fair isle knits in muted shades. The knitwear also incorporated the dinosaur theme, making the knits look cooky and more modern than the fair isle knits we’re used to. The outerwear is gorgeous, heavy wool coats with bright pink sleeves that would rival the king of coats, Burberry. Their was also a very covetable brass studded brief case that made the outfit look very sophisticated. Sophie Hulme herself looked beautiful in a simple white chiffon shirt adorned with her unique dinosaur detailing.
Sophie Hulme seems to be going from strength to strength, with her collections being sold in Selfridges and Liberty’s even before her first on-schedule presentation. This season will be no different meaning this designer won’t become extinct any time soon.
