Over in the Topshop space in Bedford Square, Nasir Mazhar’s Spring/Summer collection burst into life, with a little help from MCs Merky Ace, Kozzie, Faze Miyake, NoLay, Marger and Flirta D. Set in a mock hair salon, the colectuon screamed ‘Urban Youth’. Featuring a bunch of young people (who were Tumblr hot, if you know what that means) and set against heavy beats, Mazhar’s collection was heavily influenced from street styles mixed with cartoonish elements, girls had their hair slicked back in extreme styles.
The clothing and headwear were all very London, and evoked some looks of the nineties. Colourful sportswear/urbanwear was abundant, girls were wearng string dresses with bikini tops underneath. Fabrics clashed, cotton tshirts with fleece miniskirts. Mazhar’s show wasn’t afraid of colour or sound, what Summer is all about in the city.
