Layers of organza with crystal studs was the order of the day for Eudon Choi. Printed fabric was the most desirable fabric to work with among designers for SS13 it seems. Eudon Choi however took a fresh angle with a focus on key elements of texture and silhouette which brought depth and tension to the collection. Plenty of movement comes between the fabric and body of Choi’s pieces creating modern shapes and structures which give the wearer ease of movement and breathing space.
The fabrics used in the SS13 collection are subtle and absolutely beautifully combined, a soft wool giving a dry and tender feel against translucent crispy organza, patent leather panels against matte LYCRA® Style Fibre, textured knitted panels in between satin and stiff fabric.
Eudon choi focused on cuts and shapes, playing with the balance between femininity and masculinity. There was also an injection of glam seeing layers of organza studded with crystals.
Having seen quite a few head adornments starting off this seasons shows, Eudon’s crispy and rigid hat in versions of fur stripes and sequin embroidery, worn just above the eyelid is just so chic. It would be interesting to find out the reference for those cool head pieces.
The collections pallet is based on neutrals with a large section of monochrome and splashes of orange and pink providing a stark contrast. A sophisticated collection of style that was completely in connection with contemporary culture.
