Is it just us or has Lego been everywhere the last few months? We’re pretty sure that it’s not just us and the proof comes with the news that a feature length animated Lego film is in the works.
21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are apparently already lined up to direct the Lego based film with Warner Bros. taking on the role of the studio which will put it out.
The Lego movie will, of course, be in 3D and according to a release put out by Warner Bros. will be due for release on 28th February 2014 and will be based on ‘the LEGO Construction Toys’.
What we love about Lego is that despite the fact we haven’t actually played with it since we were 8 they’re still very much at the forefront of entertainment for younger and indeed older audiences. They’re also never ones to miss a trick recently transforming Lego characters into characters from The Dark Knight Rises and street artists proving they can cater for all.
We’re not entirely sure what to think of the fact there’s a film in the works but there’s definitely a market for it so we’ll keep our mind open until we hear more.
