LEGO greenhouse’ by sebastian bergne with LEGO UK
This rather beautiful lego greenhouse has sprung up in Covent Garden as part of London Design week and makes a beautiful glowing addition to the piazza.
The LEGO greenhouse has been made by designer, Sebastian Bergne who was commissions by LEGO UK to make a large scale public installation made entirely of LEGO bricks. Seems that LEGO are looking to ensnare an older audience by proving that LEGO can be used for real like houses as well as play ones.
You can find the greenhouse in the North East piazza in london’s covent garden as part of London Design Week 2011.
The greenhouse was chosen to tie in with Covent Garden’s history of being a fruit and vegetable market, by day it functions as a normal greenhouse and by night it lights up to become a glowing living sculptural form.
The framework of the LEGO greenhouse was built and installed by Duncan Titmarsh who is the only LEGO certified professional in the UK.
The LEGO greenhouse will be on view until september 25th, 2011.
