The show was a tribute to the ‘lavish living dead’ expressing the true street wear form Katie Eary is so strong at, in the style of graphically printed separates. Goth day glow fuchsia floral on black was morphed into suits and tees, layered with her new iconic blue crab print t-shirts, which was a motif laid on shirts, and enlarged on black T-shirts for ultimate impact.
The look which really got the most appreciative gasps was a day glow hoody peeking out from underneath a textured black leather jacket, with ribbed sleeves a fur tuxedo body competed with floral stencils in haunting reds and pinks on black skinny trousers.
Hip-hop swag was the undercurrent, each look completed by custom made black on customised fluorescent soled Air Jordans, making each outfit pop.
Gold neck chains, black fur tracksuits, crab on floral, floral on crab, floral breasted jackets with floral trousers set to a hip hop sound track, with each chorus referring directly to sex, made for a collection to be coveted by Kanye West.
Eary is the first ever designer I have seen take an un-modest bow, leaping centre stage after the finale and have a 30 second boogie to Kendrick Lamar, giving a genuinely ecstatic impression that her clothes were as fun to make, as they are to look at, and to actually wear.
