Things have been a tad quiet on the Lana Del Rey front recently but now the singer has released a new video for her next single, Carmen.
Carmen is the next track to be taken from Del Rey’s number one album Born To Die and as you can see above the video takes on a similar DIY feel to her first single, Video Games.
As you may already know Del Rey used to make all her music videos using chopped up bits of footage from old films and documentaries and the video for Carmen sees her going back to that style after her last few videos were blasted for their controversial content. And we have to say we much prefer this style from her. Was it just us or was Del Rey appearing a bit desperate for column inches and open-mouthed reactions from her last couple of videos?
Among footage of paparazzi, Hollywood stars, pole dancers and New York City there’s also some footage of Del Rey singing on stage and pulling herself close to a man who is riding a motorbike.
As we told you last week Del Rey recently popped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform Video Games and to also perform a cover of Kasabian’s track Goodbye Kiss.
Speaking of her choice to perform the track Del Rey told the radio shows host Ferne Cotton that ‘all’ of her boyfriends had loved the band going on to say, ‘I’d never listened to them. I started and I really like this song. I love this song and I love the melody.’ She finished by saying, ‘I love the way the boys sing it.’
