Despite going through some serious issues in her personal life Kristen Stewart is proving that nothing gets in the way of get acting career by signing up for the leading role in the film adaption of Lie Down In Darkness.
The film will be based on the best selling 1951 novel by William Styron and will see Stewart committing to her first film role post Twilight and Snow White And The Huntsman.
This film is set to be a pretty dark one with Stewart taking on the role of a young, beautiful girl called Peyton. Peyton is from a very dysfunctional family with a drunk mother who is jealous of her good looks and a father who gets very inappropriate with her when drunk.
While there’s no definite word on when the ball will get rolling on this one (there’s still the matter of no writer to contend with) it certainly seems to us like a good move for Stewart. As with most of the Twilight cast they all seem fairly keen to distance themselves from the teen franchise and this could be the perfect film to show off exactly what she can do.
