When we heard that Universal had given a go-ahead to a Kick-Ass sequel we were rather excited and today we have some more details about the kind of direction the film will take.
When we found out that Kick-Ass 2 was going to be made the first thing that we wondered was whether Chloe Moretz would have enough time to reprise her Hit Girl role but according to her co-start Aaron Johnson the young star is definitely on board. Speaking about Kick-Ass 2 Johnson confirmed that both he and Moretz were signed up for the follow up also revealing that director Matthew Vaughn has been replaced with Jeff Wadlow.
Johnson also confirmed that the second film will be sticking as closely to the original films original feel and edginess. Speaking in an interview Johnson said, ‘it keeps the standard from the first film… [it] keeps that class and that quality’. He then added that he’d read the script and found it ‘original’ and ‘refreshing’ which should be reassuring music to all Kick-Ass fans ears.
It looks like filming is set to kick off in the Autumn so watch this space for more details.
