We’re taking this opportunity to write about Katie Holmes without having to mention Tom Cruise. Oops. It was nice while it lasted.
Anyway, this isn’t going to stray into amateur psychology about her wardrobe since the split (we checked, she did wear heels when she was with him, anyway) or make out Suri is an influence on what we wear (she’s a kid, yeah?).
No, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has just announced that the actor is going to be the brand’s first ever celebrity face.
“Katie Holmes epitomizes the modern ‘Bobbi woman’… I think of her as the modern day Ali McGraw, who I have always admired,” says Bobbi Brown.
“Katie is a classic natural beauty, entrepreneur, and mother. When I met her, I thought she was a natural fit for my brand, and felt an instant connection with her because we have so much in common.”
Known for its ethos that the customer should ‘look and feel like herself, only prettier and more confident’, Bobbi Brown has some of the best, uncomplicated makeup around.
Katie Holmes says, “Bobbi is exceptional and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty.
“Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.”
We’ll see the first campaign images in spring next year.
Bobbi Brown will also be the lead makeup artist at the Spring/Summer 2013 Holmes & Yang show, the US clothing line founded by Katie Holmes and celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang.
On a not entirely unrelated note, we always thought she should have stuck with Pacey, anyway.
