Kanye West has revealed a preview of his new Cruel Summer compilation album to give us a heads up of what the finished product is going to sound like.
Due for release in the UK next Monday (17th September) and in the US the day after Cruel Summer sees everyone signed to West’s G.O.O.D Music record label teaming up for a whole albums worth of tracks.
To get us in the mood to part with our hard earned cash West has leaked a Sound Cloud link which plays snippets of tracks from the album featuring the likes of Pusha T, Big Sean, Kid Cudi and of course West himself.
So does Cruel Summer sound any good? The answer is of course yes. It has some of the most promising and established hip hop artists around on it so of course it isn’t going to turn out badly. As you might expect from a project like this each song is very different from the one before it with each artist showcasing their own styles on the tracks. Will it please all music lovers? Probably not. But will it please fans of West and co? It certainly sounds that way.
But why take our word for it? Give the preview a listen below.
