I like hearing about any sort of new club, so when I was told about the new W film club, which shows the latest releases every two weeks and serves free popcorn, I had to find out more.
The films are shown in the W Hotel’s luxury 39-seat cinema and screenings take place every other Tuesday from 8pm.
First on the list is the legendary On the Road showing on the 16 October, which has been adapted again for the screen this time starring Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst.
Seeing as most of the cinemas in London charge at least £10 a ticket, paying £15 for this seems like a pretty good deal to me and did I mention the free popcorn?
For those of you wanting a little extra, you can get a VIP ticket for £20 which also include a drink from the W Lounge Bar.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s a special menu at the hotel’s Spice Market restaurant, created by Michelin starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, just for the club.
For the meal you can choose from a classic garden or a healthy bento box – two picnic-sized dishes filled with delights such as spiced chicken samosas and avocado summer rolls. You can have the food either before or after the film and there’s also a Raspberry Lychee Belini thrown in (not literally) and it all comes to £20 a person.
Tickets are available at the W Film Club website and the choices are as follows:
16th October 2012: On the Road
30th October 2012: Looper
13th November: The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
27th November 2012: Killing Them Softly
11th December 2012: Seven Psychopaths
8th January 2013: Life Of Pi
15th January 2013: Gangster Squad
