Philadelphia born artist Jamie Brett Treadwell creates images that are so intriguing, colourful and damn right captivating that we had to show them to you.
Treadwell’s work focuses on themes of social surroundings and are often observations on the differences between suburban, rural and urban life styles. His work often brings together religious figures with dancers, prostitutes and mythical creatures like cherubs and nymphs showing them all living in harmony with each other.
Through all the bright colours and recognisable figures it can be easy to forget that there is a darker meaning to Treadwell’s work many of them deriving back to isolation and two worlds colliding.
We’ve put some of our favourite pieces of his work above so take a look at them for yourself and see if you can work out what they’re trying to say.
