Empire magazine and Jameson Irish Whiskey are calling on the public to help them decide who should win their annual Done In Sixty Seconds (DISS) competition.
Voting has already started commencing with the UK’s top 20 entries listed over on Jameson’s website where you can vote for your favourite until the end of February ahead of the 23rd March DISS Global Final here in London.
The competition has been running for the past four years and gives amateur film makers around the chance to remake any film they want in no more than 60 seconds. From 90 initial entires a short list of 20 has been chosen and they feature some rather brilliant takes on films such as Point Break, Phonebooth, Ghostbusters, The Thing and Hostel.
Speaking about the competition DISS ambassador and star of Bridesmaids and the upcoming Friends With Kids, Chris O’Dowd said, ‘Done in 60 Seconds is a great way for amateur filmmakers to show-case their talent in the film world. This is a truly brilliant opportunity for film enthusiasts to show off their creativity and editing skills. I would love to have had something like this when I was starting out; Jameson and Empire have created something truly unique and exciting for promising filmmakers.’
Who’s Jack will be down at the awards so we’ll be sure to let you know who wins.
