Tom Cruise is teasing us once more with the brand new trailer for Jack Reacher, his upcoming movie adaptation of a popular series of thriller novels.

Liam Neeson has managed to revive the ‘old guy as action star’ genre in the past few years and Cruise, who’s 50 himself, is taking up the mantle in his own mildly self-satisfied way.

The trailer reveals a little more about the plot, which involves a conspiracy to frame an ex-military sniper for multiple murders that Cruise’s character decides to investigate without being bound by legal niceties.

Whether or not the finished product will end up satisfying fans of the books remains to be seen.

Jack Reacher is out in the UK on December 26th.
