Who’s Jack have been given an exclusive listen of the new KillSonik EP ‘Where The River Runs Black.’ After listening, we felt the need to give you all an insight into the dubstep duo – to make sure we share their EP far and wide.
If you’re a dubstep fan, then this EP is going to really and truly excite you. Luca Gulotta and Joe Erskine, otherwise known as KillSonik are more than ready to take the new year into their control. The EP will drop later this month, so don’t worry – it’s not long before those of you with a dubstep addiction can satisfy your cravings for some new material.
You will already have heard ‘Slaughterhouse’, which was given it’s first play on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 evening slot and has ever since, been continually requested. The track has that fusion of rock and electronic music, which so many love. An epic anthem type tune, which builds and builds into a dubstep & bass mayhem.
The duo actually began their career in 2009, and were called ‘Chasing Shadows.’ Based in Bristol at the time, Gulotta and Erskine released popular tracks such as ‘Amirah’ and ‘Dr.Sin’ and were given the nod of approval from big names in the industry, which included Skream and Chase & Status.
In 2011, KillSonik signed to MTA Records. This then paved the way for the duo to take their music to a global audience, and they joined their label mates Nero, on their Second Reality live tour in March 2012.
Now, on the dawn of their new EP ‘Where The River Runs Black’ release, KillSonik aren’t going to disappoint their patiently expectant fans. Tracks to watch out for, are the in-your-face bass of ‘Walrus’ and the bouncy ‘Je Te Veaux’, which is slightly reminiscent of the buoyant and high-energy sounds of Justice.
