As far as dream jobs for artists go it doesn’t come much better than the one Rebecca Jewell has just landed, the artist in residence at the British Museum.
Her work is inspired by the history of human development and the changes in civilisation and the way we live and how changes are represented through artefacts. Impressively she has a PhD from the Royal College of Art in Natural History Illustration and was previously artist in residence for the Melanesia Art Project at the British Museum from 2005 – 2010 so she’s well versed with working with the museum. Now her job is to walk around the museum and create pieces inspired by what she sees. Pretty cosy if you ask us.
