Sixteen years after the original film was released Independence Day is to get a sequel.
There’s been so much news about film sequels recently that it’s almost becoming a bit boring but none-the-less some of you will no doubt be interested so we thought it was worth filling you in on.
For those who haven’t seen the Will Smith starring Independence Day it’s basically similar to Men in Black but it’s about aliens attacking the White House.
The films producer and writer Dean Devlin has been speaking out today telling the world that this wont be just any slap-dash sequel but it will in fact by a very ‘worthy’ film.
Rumours of a sequel to the film have been rife since it was first released by Devlin mentions in an interview today with the Hollywood Report that it is only now that they think they’ve come up with a concept that could actually stand on its own as a sequel.
There’s no news at the moment about if Smith will reprise his role or when indeed filming will commence but for now all you need to know is that it’s coming… at some point.
