Director Gary Ross is in talks already to direct the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Well with such success at the box office why not?

Gary Ross is however in with a line of other directors currently being looked at for the second instalment of the film based on the book by the same name.

The Hunger Games claimed the number one spot at the box office for three consecutive weeks, and grossed over $300 million domestically.

Last week it was thought that Gary Ross had taken his name out of the running to direct the follow up, Catching Fire but we know now that this is incorrect.

According to Deadline, Ross is formally not out of the running as of yet although formally signed on to direct Catching Fire, either.
