River Island has taken an unusual area of London for their inspiration for their latest menswear collection but one that we feel is very over looked. There is more than one bit of method in their madness though.
Holloway Road is where the first ever River Island shop was opened and now their new heritage-inspired menswear collection is named after that very same road.
This is the new AW/12 collection which includes classic north London inspired pieces like tweed flat caps, gilets, pea coats and brogues all offering a really dapper vintage look.
Holloway Road by River Island launches this September in stores and online.
Question is, would a Holloway Road boy today wear these heritage looks? We intend to ask a few to find out and this post will be updated in due course…
Boy A from Holloway Road said of the collection :
“Some bits are ok, less of the denim above the waist though, thats deff not a Holloway look, more Shorditch. They are lacking Reebok Classics and knuckle dusters to represent Holloway
plus the models look too sober”
