Looks like we’ve got yet another film sequel to add to the ever growing list of releases coming up in 2012 with rumours flying that a Hocus Pocus sequel is in the works.
If the rumours turn out to be true the film will join a rather lengthy list of film sequels being worked on this year including Sin City 2, Top Gun, Chucky and The Woman In Black.
The original Hocus Pocus was released back in 1993 and as you’ll probably remembered focused on three witches who were bought back from the dead by a young boy. It starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy and was directed by Kenny Ortega.
At the moment details of the sequel are sketchy to say the least, there’s no news on if any of the original cast will return (although we doubt they will) or if Ortega will return to the directors chair but if it goes ahead we do know the film will be called Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch.
