Do you like whisky and great food? Then Auchentoshan (pronounced Ock-un-toshan) are putting on an event on tomorrow (Thursday 18th August) called Shacklewell Nights to cater for you. Guests will be treated to impromptu whisky tastings and a three-course menu of carefully sourced local and seasonal ingredients. The idea is to serve food to match the whisky’s delicate triple distilled flavour. Not to get trashed and fall asleep in your pudding, as I probably would.
Shacklewell Nights is a collaboration between Claire Roberson (one of the founders of celebrated supper club Green Onions) and Jonathan Woolway from St Johns restaurant, so the food will be pretty awesome!
The event will be held in in Ruby House at MC Motors in Dalston in the faded grandeur of an old town house.
The menu (subject to availability of ingredients) is as follows:
—
Ox Tongue & Horseradish Bun
Langustines or Roast Tomatos on Toast , Ticklemore & Sorrel
Roast Cobb Chicken, Peas, Little Gem & Smoked Gloucester Old Spot
Raspberry Cranachan
Neals Yard Dairy Cheese Plate, Sourdough Crispbreads & Hackney Chutney
