Just a month after it opened its doors the Hawksmoor at Spitalfields has opened a brand new cocktail bar.

Found in the basement of the steak restaurant the cocktail bar will have a more glamourous feel than anything else the Hawksmoor chain have done before. The interior of the bar is made up of bits and pieces that have been reclaimed including a polished brass wall made from Art Deco lift doors from the 1920s and Victorian glazed bricks that have been used to clad columns seen around the bar.

The new bar offers a short but delicious sounding cocktail list including red and green margaritas and a nuclear banana daiquiri as well as a bar menu that’s ideal if you’re not in the mood for a massive steak (if you are book a table upstairs for after you’ve finished drinking). The menu includes a taste of the type of meat based dishes Hawksmoor have become well known for like cheeseburgers, shortrib French dip and lobster rolls.
