Will Ferrell’s Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy is a much-loved comedy that earned legions of fans across the world, many of whom will recite, on command, entire sections of the script. In fact most of them will do it without you even asking. So the arrival of a sequel almost ten years later has understandably been the subject of international excitement and tons of speculation.
Ferrell and the original news team, including Paul Rudd and Steve Carell, are already signed up to appear in the film, but ComingSoon.net reports that veteran star Harrison Ford is also onboard for Anchorman: The Legend Continues.
Production on the film is just about to start ahead of a UK release date of December 20th and while little is known about the plot, you can expect some retro-themed silliness in the same vein as the first movie.
Ford has some experience in portraying a news anchor onscreen, since he did just that in Morning Glory a few years ago. That might explain why he got the Anchorman role, although the more likely reason is that HE’S HARRISON FORD, Y’ALL!
Here’s the Anchorman: The Legend Continues teaser that was released last year to keep you occupied. For the next nine months.
