It feels like they’ve only been around for a matter of years but today Havaianas have turned the rip old age of 50.

The first pair of Havaianas flip flops were created back in 1962 and were inspired by the traditional Japanese sandals known as Zori which feature a sole made from rice straw. Even through to today, some 50 years later, the original design aesthetic of Havaianas has stayed the same with the textured sole still representing the rice straw design.

To celebrate their 50 year reign we’ve collected some of our favourite Havaianas designs that are currently available and put them above for your viewing pleasure. And you never know, if the sun ever goes out again perhaps you could treat yourself to a paid.
