Move over BBQ, there’s a new London food favourite ready to take over.
We all love a Maccy Ds or a Burger King wether secretly or in public so it’s really no surprise that Gourmet fast food should follow on from gourmet BBQ in the fashionable foods for London steaks.
Gourmet burgers were the first but now these are being followed be hotdogs and fast food chicken dishes in the preferred food ranks.
Street Feast London is helping this trend no end with Roost, a stand dedicated to fast food chicken. They’ve not been around long but they have already made a huge impact on the Street Feast regulars. They boast ‘Good Honest Chicken’ and their menu includes speedy options of chicken burgers, chicken noodle soup and buttermilk fried thighs and wings. All the chicken is sourced free range from farms in Norfolk.
Dach & Sons are doing fine things for hotdogs. Behind this opening are the people that started the Purl & Whistling Shop. Dach & Sons are bringing hamburgers and hotdogs of a special kind to Hampstead with London’s first dedicated Slider, Hotdog, Whiskey & Craft Beer bar. It can be found at 68 Heath Street, NW31DN.
And then there is Bubbledogs at 70 Charlotte Street that have married hotdogs with Champagne. This concept was thought up by James Knappett former chef at the Berkeley. Bubbledog offers ten varieties of hot dogs and champagnes by the glass and bottle.
Just when you thought a hotdog or fried chicken wing was a simple thing it turns out it isn’t, not in London anyhow. So maybe it’s time to swap your KFC for something a little more upmarket. Just be prepared to fork out more than a couple of quid for the alternative.
