Whoever said hip hop artists were self indulgent may have had a point because here’s Frank Ocean this morning debuting a 10 minute long track called Pyramids.
Even some of our most favourite songs wouldn’t hold our tolerance for a 10 whole minutes however Odd Future member and GOOD Music signee Ocean reckons that Pyramids could well be the track to change our minds.
The track is taken from Ocean’s much anticipated debut album Channel Orange which is due for release on 16th July. Since self-releasing his Nostalgia, Ultra EP last year Ocean’s music career has been going from strength to strength. Not only did the sample-led EP cause him to be put on the BBC’s Sound of 2012 list but he also had fans all over the globe sitting by their computers awaiting news of a full length album.
If you’re a fan of Ocean then you’ll be able to catch him live this summer either at Bestival or when he supports Coldplay on their UK tour.
