Frank Ocean has cancelled a number of his European dates including his performance at Bestival and V Festival in September.
The cancellations have come after problems with the singers voice caused issues at a number of recent shows including at Oya Festival during which Ocean left the stage after just four songs.
The announcement was made today via a statement from the singer who said he was feeling like an ‘asshole’ for pulling out of several preplanned performances before adding that he is ‘sorry as fuck’.
2012 has already been something of an emotional roller coaster for the former Odd Future member. After topping all the ‘ones to watch’ polls at the start of the year a huge expectation was put on his debut album release Channel Orange which was later met by critical acclaim. He also wrote an open letter to fans opening up about his sexuality, something that has been met by praise from his fans and fellow celebrities and also some negativity from some less than desirables in the music industry including US Target music stores and rapper Xzibit.
At the moment it isn’t known how long Ocean will be out of the game for or any real specifics about what’s wrong with his voice but no doubt we’ll hear more soon. For more, get well soon Mr Ocean.
