The first gory images of the Carrie remake have hit the web and you can check them out above.

Originally released in 1976 the film starred Sissy Spacek in the leading role of Carrie so newcomer to the role Chloe Moretz certainly has some big shoes to fill however judging on these pictures she’s doing a good job.

In the remake Moretz takes on the role of Carrie, a teenage girl who feels like a loner in her own school. When the bullying gets too much she begins to develop telekinetic powers resulting in one hugely bloody night of revenge.

Also starring Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde and Portia Doubleday the film has a lot of hype to live up to and could so easily fall into that dark hole where all other rubbish remakes of classic films end up. There’s also the added pressure of the fact it’s a Stephen King penned tale which means a lot of the authors fans will be watching this with an ever judging eye.

We’ll get to see the results for ourselves when the film is released at the start of 2013.
